THE MIDDLE CHILD CURSE/SYNDROME

well. this topic interests me for many resaons and here is one of them. ITS COMPLETLY TRUE! everything about it is true. the middle child is the most ignored, the middle child is always shy, the middle child has to fight for attention, the middle child is almost completely different from his/her family. everything is true about it! if you dont believe any of this then your obviously not a middle child or even have a middle sibling. here is how things go whenever theres a middle child in the family. the oldest is always trying to be perfect, gets good grades and is much farther ahead in life. the youngest is always the baby, needs more help with things and is always the most spoiled and finally the middle child who is like i said earlier always struggleing to get attention, is very shy and is almost completly different from his/her family. however, its not all bad for the middle child. sometimes its even a blessing! i mean. there are advantages like...

1.more privacy: your constantly ignored but it can be a good thing if you like to spend some alone time.

2. your different: sometimes you might wish you are like your family but in other cases your happy the way you are because your unique amongst them.

3.FREEDOM!: if your the in the middle you can choose to be either the adult like the oldest or the baby like the youngest WITHOUT QUESTION!

and thats about it for that. now, to the questions!

1.why is the middle child ignored? i know its because the parent(s) try to focus on all thier children equally but may not always go as planned.

2. why is it so bad that its considered a curse/syndrome? well. IT HAPPENES TO EVERYONE! plain and simple.

3. is there a solution to this? maybe there is or will be or maybe there will never be. only time will tell on that.

4. how would anyone else undertand how it feels? its probably not even possible! since the middle child is pretty much born into it. i mean you cant just stick an older or younger sibbling and try to get them in the role of the middle child! it cant be done! maybe someday i'll be proven wrong but im not to sure about that.

i guess thats about it for the subject. thanks for reading.

  1. Intersting topic choice, this could lead to some good writing on your own experiences as the middle child if you wish to explore this further.
